AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Postdoctoral Position
The Greer Lab seeks an excellent postdoctoral fellow to join our group. We use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, electrophysiology, imaging, and genetic approaches to investigate the cellular and neural mechanisms through which animals respond appropriately to exteroceptive and interoceptive chemosensory signals.
Current areas of interest include elucidating how the mammalian olfactory system detects behaviorally relevant chemical compounds and understanding how this information is translated by neurons within neural circuits to effect appropriate behavioral responses and understanding how chemosensors within microglia contribute to microglial function under both physiological and pathological situations. The postdoc will have considerable freedom to develop a project that fits into one of these broad areas or any other area of investigation that is of mutual interest with the PI.
The successful candidate will have a record of research productivity, be a strong communicator, be able to work well with colleagues, and have the ability to reason clearly and creatively about interesting biological questions.
Interested candidates should send a letter of interest, a resume, and the contact information for three references to Paul.Greer@umassmed.edu.
Graduate Student Position
The Greer Lab seeks intellectually curious and motivated graduate students to join our group. We use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry, electrophysiology, imaging, and genetic approaches to investigate the cellular and neural mechanisms through which animals respond appropriately to exteroceptive and interoceptive chemosensory signals.
Potential rotation projects can be located in the Rotation Projects section.
Interested candidates should send an email to Paul.Greer@umassmed.edu to arrange a time to discuss rotations.
